Automated reviews should be able to trigger from other areas of the check out feature, not only payment checkout on front desk. Ask of right now the only way to trigger the automatic patient review link is with payment checkout on front desk screen.
Currently the automation only works when you open the checkout screen and take payment. Instead, let’s add a new option “Send review request x minutes after patient is moved to checkout”. See example image attached.
This way, if a user does not take payment, we would still send the review request.
If they do take payment, it would not have any issue on this logic. They could still hand check the box if they wanted to submit a review request and close the dialog to send immediately. We would need to run a check first to see if a review request had already been submitted (e.g. do not send twice).
We would include a failsafe for practices that do not move patients to the checked-out status. For any patient who was checked in (and not moved to checkout) we would send a review request the following day at 1 PM EST.

I am also suggesting we update one more piece of the checkout screen. Once the above logic is added, the issue then becomes there would be no way to NOT send a review (if it were fully automated). As an example, if the automation is turned on and the patient comes in today. The patient gets angry and walks out. We do not want the automation to send a review.
Now the user opens the Checkout Screen (cash register) and notes the "Request 5-star Review" is checked. They uncheck the box thinking now they can prevent the review from being sent. However, as there was no payment made, they cannot click the "Save and Apply Payment" button.
My suggestion is to allow the ability to open the checkout dialog and uncheck (or check) the review box (even if no payment is made). Then click the green button to save and update that review status.
We could rename the button to "Save & Close" which would still make sense when taking a payment. It would also make sense if the user did not take a payment and only updated the review check box.
